It’s a modern, digital-first practice that goes beyond compliance. You’ll work directly with Beth, the founder of Nära, and get close exposure to how a modern accountancy practice supports clients.
The Opportunity
This is an apprenticeship designed to give you real experience, not just theory.
You’ll start by building strong bookkeeping foundations, and as your confidence and qualifications grows, you’ll develop your skills across VAT, payroll, accounts, tax and client communication
Responsibilities
- Assisting with bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting with preparing VAT returns
- Supporting the preparation of MTD for Income Tax (ITSA) updates
- Supporting the preparation of Self-Assessment tax returns
- Assisting with payroll processing and payroll compliance
- Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts
- Working with cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero, Dext)
- Communicating with clients and helping resolve queries
- Learning how to interpret financial data and spot trends
- Supporting admin and internal processes to keep everything running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine interest in accountancy and business
- Strong attention to detail and good organisation skills
- Clear, friendly communication skills
- Comfortable using technology and keen to learn new systems
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ideally college/6th form leaver
- 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths
No prior experience in practice is required (but would be nice), just the right mindset.
