Care Assistant – Night Shift
Residential Care Home

Are you a compassionate and caring individual looking for a rewarding night shift role where you can truly make a difference? We are currently recruiting Night Shift Care Assistants to join our friendly and dedicated team within a busy residential care home supporting elderly residents.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive environment where dignity, respect, and person-centred care are at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

As a Night Shift Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the health, wellbeing, comfort, and safety of our residents throughout the night. Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering compassionate, person-centred care to residents in a residential setting
Assisting with personal care, continence care, repositioning, and supporting residents during the night
Providing reassurance and emotional support to residents who may be anxious or unsettled
Supporting residents living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other health conditions
Monitoring and recording residents’ wellbeing and reporting any concerns appropriately
Carrying out regular safety and welfare checks throughout the night
Maintaining a safe, clean, calm, and comfortable environment
Working closely with colleagues and healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care

What We’re Looking For

A kind, patient, and empathetic nature
A genuine desire to support and care for others
SVQ Level 2 or 3 is desirable but not essential — full training and support can be provided
Ability to work independently and as part of a team during night shifts
Reliability and flexibility to work on a rota basis

Shift Pattern

Night shifts are 12.25 hours per shift
Contracted over 2 nights per week
Part-time permanent position
