We are looking for a dynamic, hardworking and experienced cleaner to maintain high levels of cleanliness within the newly developed visitor facilities known as The Rising at Raby Castle and at our Home Farm Staff Quarters. You will be expected to provide cover in the event of Holidays and Sickness across the wider part of the Estate at High Force Hotel and the Raby Estate Office. Cleaning duties are required 2 and a half days per week and will include weekend working on a rota basis. Additional days will be available to cover event days or holidays and sickness.
What youll be doing
A cleaning position at Raby Castle is one of the most diverse roles there is to offer. As well as providing a unique opportunity to work in extraordinary locations across this beautiful country estate, this role offers a fast paced, varied role for someone bursting with energy, who is passionate about providing exemplary service.
As a cleaner you will ensure that all facilities within the visitor attraction are presented to the highest standard. You will contribute to the care of both new and historic buildings. You will also help monitor environmental conditions and report any maintenance issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor or General Manager.
What we need to see
The ideal candidate is efficient, reliable, and detail-oriented with a can-do attitude. This is an important role within the Raby team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive cleaning (washing floors, emptying bins, vacuuming, cleaning public toilets, dusting etc.) ensuring the service meets high standards of hygiene and cleanliness

Cleaning of staff facilities such as offices, break rooms and toilets plus the cleaning of staff facilities at Raby Home Farm.

Cover for housekeeping staffs holidays, sickness leave etc, including High Force Hotel and the Raby Estate Office.

Additional cover for special events throughout the year.

Perform and document any routine inspection activities.

Work in a responsible and safe manner at all times, adhering to Health & Safety policies, safe working practices and Company Policies and Procedures (e.g. COSHH, manual handling etc.).

Represent Raby appropriately at all times by being smart in appearance and behaving in an appropriate manner in line with our estate values.

Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven working experience as a cleaner
- Ability to handle heavy cleaning equipment and machinery
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
