Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Panel Installer to join our renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing solar photovoltaic systems on various types of buildings and terrains. Responsibilities
- Safely transporting, assembling, and installing solar panels and associated mounting structures on rooftops or ground-mounted sites.
- Using hand tools and power tools to secure panels, wiring, and electrical components according to technical specifications.
- Operating heavy machinery such as excavators when required for site preparation or foundation work.
- Performing welding tasks for custom mounting solutions or structural modifications when necessary.
- Conducting mechanical inspections of installed systems to ensure proper alignment, secure fastening, and optimal performance.
- Connecting electrical wiring, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Conducting site assessments to determine optimal placement of solar panels for maximum efficiency.
- Maintaining detailed records of installation progress and adhering to project timelines.
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Experience
- Proven experience in solar panel installation or related renewable energy roles is preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical wiring is essential.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to structural assembly and system integration is highly desirable.
- Experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Welding skills are a plus for custom fabrication tasks.
- Electrical experience or qualifications will be considered an asset.
