Pipefitting Supervisor
Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Pipefitting Supervisor to join the team for Outage Works.
This role will involve working 6 Days On, 1 Day Off – 10 Hour Shifts, Mobilisation Start Date: 24/08/2026
The position is paid inline With NAECI agreement, with lodge and travel paid where applicable.
Key Deliverables:
- Supervise and coordinate Pipefitting activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
- Allocate work scopes and monitor the performance and productivity of personnel under your control.
- Plan, organise and execute work activities within the assigned scope to achieve safety, quality and productivity objectives.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with permits to work, risk assessments, method statements and company procedures.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, Safety Connect sessions and site-specific safety communications.
- Promote hazard awareness and reinforce Focus2Zero principles, including the use of error prevention tools and identification of error traps.
- Monitor compliance with Critical Task procedures and ensure they are correctly implemented and administered.
- Support Resident Engineers, Section Engineers and other Supervisors in delivering operational requirements.
- Ensure traceability of materials, consumables and plant equipment used within the work scope.
- Coordinate the estimation, ordering and deployment of pipefitting consumables, tools and equipment.
- Monitor progress and provide accurate performance and productivity reporting as required by the contract.
- Ensure quality standards are achieved by implementing quality procedures and resolving workmanship issues in conjunction with Quality Engineers.
- Complete all required contract administration and reporting activities accurately and on time.
- Conduct post-job assessments and performance reviews in line with project requirements.
- Support the sharing of lessons learned and best practices through company improvement processes.
- Coach, mentor and develop Pipefitters, Chargehands and other team members.
- Manage first-line disciplinary, grievance and performance management matters in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain effective communication with site management, engineers, customers, subcontractors and regulatory representatives.
Key Requirements / Qualifications:
- General secondary education or equivalent.
- Completed a recognised Pipefitting Apprenticeship or equivalent vocational qualification.
- NVQ Level 3, ACE Card or equivalent qualification in Pipefitting.
- Valid CCNSG Safety Passport.
- IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.
- ECITB Supervisory Management Training Development (SMTD) Modules as required.
- NVQ/SVQ/QCF Level 3 or above in Supervisory Management is desirable.
- Minimum three years' experience at Advanced Pipefitter level.
- Minimum one year's experience in a Chargehand or supervisory role.
- Significant experience of piping operations within industrial environments.
- Experience supervising work within oil & gas, petrochemical, thermal power generation, manufacturing, pharmaceutical or nuclear sectors.
- Sound understanding of Human Performance principles and behavioural safety programmes.
- Strong knowledge of permit to work systems, risk assessment processes and safe systems of work.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometric drawings, specifications and work instructions.
- Completion of Human Performance and project-specific training requirements where applicable.
