Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for construction painting and decorating to contribute to diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties. A valid driving licence and strong communication skills are desirable to facilitate smooth project execution and client interactions.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and masking to ensure a smooth finish
Apply paints, varnishes, stains, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
Follow technical specifications and colour schemes accurately to meet client expectations
Ensure work areas are kept clean and organised throughout the project
Collaborate with colleagues and clients to understand project requirements and provide advice on colour choices and finishes
Maintain tools and equipment in good condition for optimal performance
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during work activities

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction painting and decorating or related trades
Strong knowledge of different paints, finishes, tools, and techniques used in decorating projects
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites
Excellent communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and team members
Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
Organised approach with attention to detail and commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship
