Job Summary

The role of Cancer Pathway Manager within the Leeds Dental Institute (LDI) has become an essential part or our oral cancer pathway. The role sits within the LDI and works closely with the LTHT multidisciplinary team coordinators. The Cancer Pathway Manager is responsible for removing administrative barriers from patient pathways to ensure our clinical team can deliver patient care as effectively as possible. The role is primarily based at the Leeds Dental Institute in Leeds city centre with occasional working from other LTHT sites, the role is flexible to hybrid on site and working from home arrangements.

This is a challenging and highly rewarding role which will require the successful candidate to demonstrate a range of skills, knowledge and behaviours and in exchange will have an opportunity to grow and expand your skills in a CSU committed to supporting personal development.

A strong knowledge of NHS cancer pathways and wait time targets.
A thorough and keen attention to detail.
Strong prioritisation and problem-solving skills.

What you will bring to the role

The role of Cancer Pathway Manager will be a challenging position and will test the skills of the candidate. The role is now well established within the LDI and carries clear goals and responsibilities for the role. The core responsibilities of the role are

Supporting the Referral Booking Service by identifying and coordinating capacity changes to support urgent suspected cancer referrals.
Monitor and coordinate patient appointments in line with cancer wait times.
Present and report our position against targets and KPIs to the LDI senior management.
Support our clinical team by monitoring for returned pathology reports and escalating as needed.
Supporting service improvement projects and workstreams within the department.
