Overview
We are seeking a professional 7.5 tonne delivery driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting the efficient distribution of products across designated routes. Candidates must possess a valid driving licence and relevant experience in commercial driving.
Duties
- Safely operate a 7.5 tonne lorry for daily deliveries to clients and customers
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured correctly during transit
- Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes to meet schedules
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain customer signatures upon completion
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting with unloading and answering queries professionally
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with 7.5 tonne vehicles or similar commercial vehicles
- Familiarity with vehicles and securement of cargo during transit
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of local roads and navigation systems is advantageous
- Prior experience in customer-facing roles is beneficial but not essential
