Fabrication Supervisor

Location: Tewkesbury (GL20 8JG)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Full Time

About the Role

We are a well-established subcontract engineering business serving a diverse range of industries, delivering high-quality fabricated and machined components to demanding customer deadlines. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Fabrication Supervisor to lead our fabrication team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who thrives under pressure, enjoys leading from the front, and is passionate about quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily fabrication activities to ensure production targets and customer delivery schedules are achieved.
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of fabricators, welders, and assembly personnel.
Monitor workflow, labour allocation, and resource planning to maximise efficiency.
Ensure all work is completed to required quality standards, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
Conduct regular quality inspections and address non-conformances promptly.
Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Liaise closely with Production, Planning, Quality, and Engineering departments to resolve manufacturing issues and improve performance.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve operational effectiveness.
Assist with training, performance management, and skills development within the fabrication team.
Ensure accurate completion of production documentation and reporting.

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience in a fabrication supervisory or team leader role within a subcontract engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong fabrication and welding knowledge with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
Excellent understanding of production processes, quality standards, and manufacturing best practices.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight delivery deadlines.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles would be advantageous.
Flexible, proactive, and capable of leading by example on the shop floor.
