Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Labourer to join our construction and maintenance team. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks across different projects, supporting skilled trades and ensuring the smooth progress of worksites. Responsibilities
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing and organising work areas
- Support skilled tradespeople by handling materials and tools
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to assist with construction tasks
- Perform heavy lifting and manual labour as required to move materials or equipment
- Follow schematics and technical drawings under supervision for various tasks
- Contribute to roofing, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, or fabrication projects as needed
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times
- Support with site clean-up and organisation to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience or training in construction-related activities is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of schematics, welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques is desirable
- Familiarity with roofing, carpentry, masonry, or heavy lifting will be considered a plus
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
