General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Programme Manager to join our Programme Management Office Team, based in Merthyr, South Wales. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £58,400 to £73,000 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally.
General Dynamics Land Systems UK is recruiting a Programme Manager on a permanent basis. The Programme Manager will manage the front-end of the project lifecycle and will be responsible for the development of business cases, building detailed cost and schedule estimates to support the transition between opportunities to bids and to project launch. The role holder will work across the fabric of the organisation to ensure full alignment of resources to support the activities and ensure project delivery to the customer.
The role will require some travel within the UK and International.
The Programme Manager will also be required to support the wider General Dynamics Land Systems PMO, providing support to other Programmes when required.
If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:

Development of business cases and support to business development pursuits
- Stakeholder management across the whole enterprise including, suppliers, customer and internal operations

Interact with engineers, manufacturing teams, team leaders, suppliers and management to build robust estimates, plans and understand risks and opportunities on projects
- Support the transition of project through the bid to execution phase to ensure a successful launch
To apply for this role, you will require the following:

Experience in Project or Programme Management preferably in a military or defence industry environment

APMP qualified (or equivalent)

Experience of project management in a strong matrix organization

Experience of Leadership in a dynamic environment

Experience of the bid process (desirable)

Team working – motivating the team and fostering an environment of teamwork to ensure that all products are delivered on time and company goals are met
