We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to lead the development and implementation of North Tyneside Council’s approach to tackling condensation, damp and mould across our 14,000-home housing portfolio.

This is a key leadership role where you will manage a dedicated team responsible for surveying, diagnosing and delivering a wide range of repairs and improvements within residents’ homes across the borough.

You will play a vital role in ensuring we provide a high-quality, customer-focused service, driving improvements in property conditions while supporting residents and maintaining our commitment to excellent service delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading and managing a specialist team delivering condensation, damp and mould surveys, repairs, and improvements
Overseeing day-to-day service delivery to ensure high standards of quality and performance
Driving service improvements and implementing proactive approaches to prevent issues at source
Managing budgets and performance in line with key targets and council priorities
Ensuring a strong focus on customer satisfaction and positive resident outcomes

The successful candidate

You will be a proactive and solutions-focused professional who can take ownership of service delivery and inspire others to achieve results.

You will:

Hold relevant qualifications and/or have significant experience in housing, property maintenance, or a related field
Ideally have experience working within a social housing environment
Demonstrate strong leadership and people management skills
Have experience of managing budgets and delivering against performance measures
Be confident in solving problems and driving continuous improvement
Have a good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and a strong commitment to safe working practices
