Creative Designer – Full time office-based Portsmouth - £29,000 - £32,000 PA depending on experience

The Graphic Design House is a full-service design agency based in Portsmouth that produces inspirational creative for ambitious brands. We are looking for a Creative Designer to join our growing studio team. Our team focuses on a collaborative, hands on approach. Priding ourselves on building trusted client relationships, many of our clients are longstanding and loyal partners. We understand their business and as a result we know how to help them grow and improve the products and services they want to deliver, helping to maintain their success for the present and future. The perfect fit for us would be a creative designer who can fit into this dynamic well, bringing their skillsets and their passion to help elevate our work from the ground up. The ideal candidate will be comfortable owning projects end to end and be confident in explaining their design thinking to new and existing clients, both in ideation stages and final outcomes.
As Creative Designer you will enjoy working in a friendly, enriching and fast paced environment. With ample support and direction, you will be responsible for managing design projects from brief through to print and/or web ready solution. You’ll also collaborate with our senior design team on larger concept projects to develop your own creative processes.

Summary of the Creative Designer role:
· Working on existing and new designs, both with ownership and with support from the team
· Designing to customer specifications, within budgets to secure profitable business for The Graphic Design House.
· Liasing with Studio Manager, Creative Lead, Accounts team and the client to ensure a timely and accurate delivery of individual job requirements.
· Utilising your current design skills in Adobe daily, whilst learning valuable skills and knowledge about design for print and digital.
· Producing large and small projects with maximum efficiency, accuracy and consistency.
· Having a keen eye for detail and checking artwork to mitigate problems post signoff.
· When necessary, taking lead on presenting projects and explaining design proposals and reflection.
· Producing conceptual designs when necessary, presenting these to clients and explaining the design thinking.
· Honing design skills both independently with training programs, and with the expertise of our experienced design team.
· Striving to deliver above and beyond customer expectation.
· Being responsible in managing time to ensure all work is completed on time and on budget.
· Asking questions with a growth mindset to develop skills and understand processes more.
Skills & Experience (must have):
· A Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent
· 4+ years’ experience within as a professional Graphic Designer, preferably with in an agency setting.
· An understanding of design fundamentals, as well as design for print
· Excellent technical proficiency within Adobe Suite, mainly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator (After Effects/Premiere Pro is a bonus)
· Strong communication skills both written and verbal
· Strong presenting skills both to individuals and groups
· The ability to collaborate and share work, with design thinking in mind
· Be highly organised
· Have strong time management skills
