Front of House Assistant Supervisor, Waterside Cafe @ Bow Garden & Aquatic Centre
Located in the beautiful Devon countryside only 15 minutes from both Crediton and Okehampton, and 30 minutes from Exeter.
Attractive working hours - daytime only 9-5. 4-5 days per week (depending on candidates' needs) including at least 1 weekend day (daytime hours, no evenings or nights), this is a permanent role on a contract.

We are an independent, family owned Garden Centre with a thriving Café overlooking a lovely waterside position. We are an energetic, friendly team of hard working people.
What We Need
We are looking for an energetic and friendly person to help motivate and lead our friendly front of house team, and give excellent customer service to promote a welcoming environment. The working hours are from circa 9am until 5pm in the summer and 9am to 4/4.30pm in the winter and on Sundays.
You must have excellent, friendly customer service skills and have previously worked in hospitality, and can effectively delegate and supervise your team, and deal efficiently with any customer issues to ensure service is always top notch. You must be able to operate the till (training will be given), serve food from kitchen to customers, make hot drinks (ideally barrista skills) and serve cakes and cold drinks, clear and clean tables, & counter area.
You must have a friendly, can do attitude with a strong work ethic, a willingness to help out and work with the rest of the team, a positive approach, and enjoy being part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Due to our countryside location you must be able to drive.
Responsibilities:
Deliver excellent customer service with a smile.
Day to day operation of the café, including helping with staff rotas, ordering, organising procedures, cleanliness, tidiness and security of all areas.
Ensure correct hygiene procedures followed at all times.
Help direct and delegate to other front of house team members.
Follow and implement start of day procedures, delegate to team as necessary.
Work with cooks on the end of day procedures and completion of required paperwork and SFBB.
Maximise sales and profits by, minimising wastage and increasing customer sales where possible by up selling.
Excellent presentation to customer of cakes, sandwiches, salads, drinks and sundries
Ensure the menu boards are changed throughout the day to advertise daily specials, breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea
Liaise with cooks so front of house is delivering the same message to team
