Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Slinger Signaller to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing crane operations and ensuring the safe movement of loads on-site. This role requires clear communication skills, a good understanding of construction procedures, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Prior construction experience and driving competence are highly desirable. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a dynamic environment, contributing to the successful completion of projects.

Duties

Signalling crane operators to facilitate precise lifting and placement of materials and equipment to support skidding and Jacking operations
Assisting with the planning and execution of lifting operations in accordance with safety regulations
Conducting visual inspections of lifting gear and equipment before use
Maintaining clear communication with all team members during lifting activities
Ensuring all operations comply with health and safety standards
Assisting with site logistics, including transporting equipment or materials as required
Keeping accurate records of lift activities and inspections

Skills

Proven construction experience, with knowledge of lifting procedures and safety protocols
Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with crane operators and ground crew
Fluency in English, both spoken and written, for clear instructions and documentation
Valid driving licence to facilitate site access and transportation needs
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure in a busy construction environment
Good physical fitness, with the capacity to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

This role is essential for maintaining safe and efficient lifting operations on-site. Candidates should be committed to safety standards, possess good teamwork abilities, and be eager to contribute positively to our projects.

Pay: £15.94-£23.19 per hour
