Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Joiner/Fitter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, assembling, and installing various structural components on-site and in workshop environments. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a range of technical skills within a dynamic construction setting. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with experience in carpentry, fabrication, or related trades, looking to contribute to diverse projects including roofing, plumbing, and masonry.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install timber and other materials using hand tools and power tools
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate fitting and installation
- Work on roofing, plastering, masonry, and other specialised construction tasks as required
- Assist with fabrication of components in the workshop before installation on-site
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
- Collaborate with other trades such as electricians, welders, plumbers, and painters to complete projects efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure precision and durability
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry, fabrication, or related construction trades
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in joinery and fitting tasks
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Experience working with roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, plastering, masonry or construction painting is highly desirable
- Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or construction trades are advantageous but not essential
