Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. The successful candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, with experience in equipment repair and maintenance. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a wide range of technical skills to deliver high-quality service.
Hours of work
Full time Monday - Friday with alternative Saturday shifts.
Overtime available at flat rate.
Duties
- Working on a wide range of HGV trucks and trailers
- Carry out mobile and workshop-based jobs.
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on HGVs to identify faults and necessary repairs
- Carry out servicing
- Perform mechanical repairs and assembly of vehicle components
- Fault diagnostics
- Repair or replace faulty parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out in accordance with company standards
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and comply with relevant legislation
- Support the team with general maintenance tasks to uphold vehicle reliability and safety
Requirements
- Proven experience as a HGV Technician (Essential)
- HGV Licence - advantageous but not essential
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently
Skills
- Strong electrical knowledge combined with mechanical expertise in heavy vehicle systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for repairs and assembly
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in maintenance records
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling of large components
- Good customer service skills when liaising with clients or internal teams regarding repairs and maintenance tasks

Pay will be determined by experience .
