Full job description

Job Overview
Team Leader

Day to day supervision of a fast-paced fabrication shop floor environment, to include allocating resources to relevant areas of the process to achieve weekly targets, enforcing health and safety policies, delivering toolbox talks and morning briefs.

Skills required

· Strong man management

· General knowledge of health and safety practices, quality standards and expected outputs

· Fabrication and welding experience in a structural steel environment is essential

· Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and other departments.

· A good overview of the process from material into the finished product out

Responsibilities

· Reporting to the production manager daily for progress updates.

· Ensure traceability is filled in throughout the process

· Supervision of the workforce

· Collaborate with management to resolve production issues and drive improvements

· Promote strong health & safety practices and good housekeeping standards

· Train, coach and support team members to improve skills and performance

· Assist with onboarding and mentoring new fabrication staff

This role would suit someone who:

· Can work independently from drawings

· Has strong problem-solving ability

· Wants responsibility and progression

· Enjoys improving systems and workshop organisation and build something long term rather than clocking in and out

· Ability to lead by example in a hands-on role

· Is confident in discussions and communication (the good and the bad!!)

Hours of work

06:00 - 16:30 - Monday - Thursday ( Fridays optional Overtime)

Pay: Up to £18.50 per hour
