The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for managing the sales activities of the company’s product portfolio of Uninterruptible Power Supplies ( UPS ) and Isolated Power Supplies (IPS) . This position reports to the Company Directors and General Manager. Provides support in implementing the region's overall sales strategy, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue quotations to meet customers specifications
- Assist our customers with the development of technical specifications and product selection.
- Liaese with suppliers and internal team to ensure delivery dates are meet
- Maintain and expand customer base by building and maintaining rapport with key customers, identifying new customer opportunities
- Work with colleagues to grow maintenance opportunities for the company.
- Meet sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements.
- Drive sales forecast accuracy and funnel growth.

- Acquire and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all assigned product lines by attending in-house and OEM technical training courses.
- Attend sales meetings and trade shows and reads industry publications to gain knowledge of competitors' product strengths and weaknesses within assigned sales territory.
- Participate in technical/professional organizations or networking groups, attends customer meetings to obtain leads.
- Prepare sales presentations to explain the company capabilities. Demonstrates products to potential customers.
- Follow up on quotations. Maintain CRM with updated information
- Manage the direct sales channels within territory including OEM's, end users and engineering/contracting firms.
- Ensure that region achieves sales at or above target levels.
- Manage all aspects of the assigned territory, e.g., increasing sales, developing, and managing customer relationships, conducting product demos, installations, and customer training.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant commercial policies and procedures to ensure that the business maintains full legal compliance with all relevant national legislation and company policies.
- Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding performance
- Provide timely, accurate, follow up to customer inquiries and keep accurate records within CRM.
- Maintain accurate records of all pricing, sales, and activity reports
Support customers technically to find solutions to meet their applications Experience, Skills and Qualifications Minimum HNC/D in a Electrical / Electronic or Mechanical lower will be considered with appropriate demonstrated experience.
- 2+ years’ experience of working in a technical sales environment
- Proven / demonstrable successful track record in growing sales
- Strong understanding of customer, market dynamics and requirements
- Willingness to travel within NI and ROI ( occasionally)
- Key Account Management experience desirable
- Relevant industry experience and knowledge of the market
- Customer focused attitude.
- Strong team player with the ability to work successfully on own initiative
- Ability to translate technical product information into strong customer value propositions
- Proven experience in sales and managing relationships with key clients using CRM tools
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft packages, CRM systems, video webinar use & quoting tools.
- Effective time management skills in prioritizing and addressing multiple and at times conflicting demands
- Attention to detail in maintaining required records and reports.
- Full UK Driving Licence
