Anchor Care and Education is looking for an experienced Senior Practitioner ready to progress into a Deputy/Team Manager role within our therapeutic children’s home.
You’ll help lead a small, supportive team caring for 2 children aged 6–18 who have experienced trauma, helping them build stability, confidence, and independence.
You'll be supported through specialist trauma-informed training to help young people manage complex emotional and behavioural needs.
This role offers real career progression, structured leadership development, and the opportunity to move into a Registered Manager position as we open more homes.

Key Responsibilities
As Deputy/Team Manager, you will:
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home to ensure that the home meets Ofsted and statutory requirements.
- Lead, support and develop your team ensuring high standards of practice.
- Supervise, mentor, and support staff, including through regular supervisions and coaching.
- Understand Ofsted regulations and be able to assist in Reg 44 visits.
- Risk assess situations and make confident, informed decisions.
- Support 2 young people through dysregulated and complex behaviours.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives
- Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within an EBD residential children's home
- Has experience working with children with dysregulated behaviours
- Is a strong practitioner with professional credibility
- Has experience de-escalating and managing dysregulated behaviours
- Has a good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
- Works well as part of a close, supportive team
- Has completed a minimum of 50% of the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a car (essential due to location and role requirements)
Shift Pattern
- 2-week rolling rota
- Long week: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Short week: Wednesday and Thursday
- Every other long weekend off
- Shifts run 08:00 – 21:00
- Average 42 hours per week
