KB Event Ltd is seeking a proactive and organised Finance Assistant to join our dynamic Finance team based in Pinxton.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all purchase orders are raised in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Create, process, and dispatch invoices accurately and promptly, ensuring correct cost allocation.
- Record invoice payments and follow up with debtors in line with company credit control procedures.
- Process payments using BACS, CHAPS, and SWIFT transfer methods.
- Review bank statements and complete daily bank reconciliations.
- Administer and issue petty cash in compliance with company policies.
- Collate and submit data for EU VAT reclaims on fuel.
- Maintain accurate filing and archiving of financial documents, both physical and electronic.
- Assist the finance team with preparing financial reports, forecasts, budgets, and financial models.
- Monitor cash flow and debtor days, providing regular updates as required.
- Support the Management Accountant with reviewing, analysing, and communicating cost centre reports.
- Assist with annual audit activities by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Conduct credit checks and set up credit accounts for new clients.
- Provide cover for team members, such as the Purchase Ledger Clerk, during periods of annual leave or sickness.
- Respond to invoice-related queries from internal stakeholders and customers via email and telephone.
- Reconcile, process, and input weekly and monthly payroll for both UK and EU, and assist with payroll-related queries.
- Add new starters to the payroll system and provide relevant reporting to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Person Specification
- Previous experience in a finance role, ideally covering both purchase and sales ledger. (Sales Ledger experience not essential)
- Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Confident working with financial data (GCSE Maths Grade C/Level 4 or above).
- AAT Level 3 or above desirable (support available for the right candidate).
- Experience in payroll is helpful but not essential.
- A team player with a “can do” attitude and strong relationship-building skills.
