Role Overview
Caice is looking for a proactive Procurement & Production Planner to support the effective flow of work into manufacturing. The role is responsible for procurement, production scheduling, stock control, and the validation of Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring materials, product structures, and inventory levels are aligned with production requirements, agreed capacity levels, and milestone plans.
Acting as a central control point, you will carry out procurement activity against production demand, maintain appropriate stock levels, and schedule and release work in line with capacity and material readiness. You will ensure all materials, BOMs, system data, and production information are accurate, complete, and in place prior to manufacture, making controlled amendments where required to resolve discrepancies and support production readiness.
Working closely with production, operations, warehouse, and suppliers, you will help ensure material availability, accurate build information, and the timely and efficient release of work to the shopfloor.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supplier Coordination
- Coordinate procurement activity in line with production demand, raising and managing purchase orders to support schedule, capacity, and stock requirements
- Liaise with suppliers to manage orders, resolve issues, and ensure materials are delivered in line with operational needs
- Maintain accurate system data including material status, pricing, and lead times
Materials Planning & Inventory Control
- Maintain stock levels aligned to production requirements, ensuring availability of materials while minimising shortages and excess
- Monitor material demand against production schedules and adjust ordering and stock levels accordingly
- Update production schedules with key stocking and free‑issue item status
- Oversee free‑issue material control, ensuring client‑supplied items are correctly received, recorded, stored, and issued
Production Planning, Scheduling & Release Control
- Maintain and update production schedules in line with agreed capacity levels and milestone plans
- Assess scheduling requests, clashes, and priority changes to ensure achievable and balanced plans
- Approve, batch, and release work, ensuring Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production instructions are correct, complete, and ready for manufacture
- Make controlled Bills of Materials amendments where required to correct errors or align with production requirements
- Maintain accurate planned manufacturing and delivery dates within production systems
- Act as a control gate for the release of work to manufacture once all material and information requirements are confirmed complete
Communication & Coordination
- Act as a key link between procurement, production, warehouse, logistics, and operations teams
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure correct receipt, storage, and flow of materials
- Communicate and escalate material shortages, risks, or scheduling constraints to support effective decision-making

- Experience in procurement, production planning, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills with the ability to proactively manage accurate material, stock, and system data.
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload in a fast‑paced, demand‑driven environment.
- Good Excel skills and experience using inventory or planning systems.
- Strong, confident communicator, comfortable working collaboratively across departments and with suppliers.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
