We are a manufacturer of orthopedic components and materials manufactured to high specifications for the medical industry. Our focus is to supply high quality medical products to exacting customer and international specifications, supported by our Technical Department which can test polymeric materials to the highest standards. To support continued business growth, we require an enthusiastic individual to join our business to work within our New Product Introduction (NPI) Department.
Key Accountable Areas:
· Writing CNC programs & maintaining and controlling all established CNC programs relating to NPI projects
· Set and operate various 3,4 & 5 axis CNC machines with various controls
· Operating CMM’s, comparators & handheld instruments etc to measure components against the print
· Utilising CAD/CAM programmes
· Creation of CNC programs to meet the requirements of specific internal and external customer requirements
· Control of All related CNC activities
· Creating programs from electronic models
· Creation of required fixturing/work-holding
· 3D electronic model creation
· Working towards client-specific and high-quality production
· Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to
· Provide technical support and training to staff
· Proving out CNC programs ensuring that cycle times are aligned with the product quotation
· Ensuring that the manufacturing method is robust & repeatable & drawing tolerances can be maintained
This Exciting Position Requires a Person Who Has Knowledge of:
· Good manufacturing practice
· Programming/operating CNC machinery
· Previous experience in manufacturing/engineering role
· Excellent understanding of engineering drawings & machining strategies
· Experience of machining a variety of plastic material would be desirable

Required Qualifications:
· At least 2 years’ CNC programming experience preferably on various CNC control machines/systems
· At least 2 years’ cad/cam programming experience
· Experience with Visi software is an advantage but training would be provided for applicants with experience on other software packages
· Edgecam experience is also advantageous
Hours of Employment
· Hours of Work: 08.00 to 17.00 Monday to Thursday with 2 x 15-minute breaks and ½ hour lunch
08.00 to 13.00 Friday with 1 x 15-minute breaks (39 Hours)
· Due to the nature of the work, you may be expected to be flexible with regards to working hours and breaks to enable the best efficiency and utilisation during the daily period
· Duties and hours may vary dependent upon workload
