Haywood & Jackson Fabrications Ltd is a well-established engineering and fabrication company delivering projects across the rail, water, and industrial sectors.
We are looking for an experienced QA Inspector (CSWIP 3.1) to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused individual who enjoys working in a hands-on fabrication environment and takes pride in ensuring work is delivered to the highest standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance with company quality procedures, client specifications and industry standards, ensuring projects are delivered right first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out visual weld inspections in accordance with CSWIP 3.1 requirements.
- Inspect fabrication and assembly activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Verify material certification and maintain traceability records throughout the fabrication process.
- Complete inspection records, quality documentation and project quality packs.
- Review and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans.
- Coordinate and support third-party NDT inspections.
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Liaise with workshop personnel, project teams, clients and external inspectors.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Support quality inspections during installation activities when required.
Essential Requirements
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification.
- Experience within a fabrication, welding, structural steelwork or engineering environment.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of quality assurance procedures and inspection techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience working to BS EN 1090 standards.
- PCN / ISO 9712 qualifications.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor experience.
- Experience within rail, water, utilities or industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of NDT processes and coating inspections.
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
