Trainee Account Manager
Location: Middlesbrough (In-person)
Shift & Schedule: Monday to Friday
About the Role
We are looking for a Trainee Account Manager to join our expanding team in Middlesbrough. You don’t need years of corporate experience to apply—we provide full, structured training from day one.
This role is a practical, hands-on introduction to commercial client management. Working alongside our senior team, you will learn how to build strong B2B relationships, look after existing customer accounts, and spot new business opportunities. If you have a background in retail, hospitality, customer service, or call centres and want to transition into a professional office career, this is the perfect next step.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Client Support: Acting as a reliable point of contact for our existing clients, answering queries, and resolving issues professionally.
- Account Retention: Keeping in regular touch with customers to ensure they are happy with our service and helping to renew contracts.
- Business Growth: Learning how to identify client needs, introduce them to relevant new products or services, and contribute to team sales targets.
- Shadowing & Training: Working directly with Senior Account Managers to learn negotiation, account strategy, and CRM data management.
What We Are Looking For:
Essential:
- A confident, professional telephone manner and strong communication skills.
- The ability to stay organised and keep accurate records while managing a busy inbox.
- A positive attitude towards learning new systems and industry knowledge.
- Basic IT literacy (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Desirable:
- Any face-to-face or phone-based customer service experience (e.g., hospitality, retail, contact centres).
- Experience working towards targets, KPIs, or performance goals.
What We Offer:
- Full Training & Mentorship: You won't be thrown in at the deep end. You will shadow experienced managers until you are fully confident.
- Uncapped Bonus/Incentives: Earn extra on top of your base salary as you hit training milestones and development targets.
- Clear Career Path: This role is designed to progress into a fully-fledged Account Manager position within 12 months.
- Great Team Culture: A supportive, fast-paced office environment with regular team incentives.
