Upholsterer required to work within our experienced team here at our busy manufacturing facility in Basildon, Essex.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting prime commercial and residential projects for corporate giants, global brands and some of the most prestigious addresses in London. One day you could be producing fabric walling for Google’s new headquarters, the next, working on banquette seating for a world-famous restaurant.
Duties will include:
- Stripping furniture for reupholstery
- Preparing frames by attaching springs, webbing or adhering foam
- Selecting, measuring and cutting fabric/leather to exact pattern requirements
- Ensuring quality of materials and standards are maintained throughout the upholstery process
- Working with trimmings/finishings including buttons, facing, piping and decorative studs
The successful candidate must have the following skills and qualifications:
- C&G (or equivalent) in Modern & Traditional Upholstery
- Proven upholstery experience
- The ability to read production drawings
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident working with all fabrics and leather applications
- The ability to work to tight delivery schedules whilst maintaining a high standard of finish
- Sewing skills would be advantageous
