PAINTER & DECORATOR

THE ROLE
As part of our team of dedicated home interior trades you will work alongside our existing teams of skilled carpenters, tilers, electricians, plasters, floor fitters and decorators in delivering premium bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms to residential clients throughout East Devon, West Dorset and South Somerset. Your responsibilities will include;
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming
- Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes using brushes and rollers
- Hang wallpaper and apply decorative finishes where required
- Protect furniture, floors, and fixtures before and during work
- Working with our installation teams in the preparation of kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms
- General practical skills including basic carpentry, decorating and labouring
- An existing skill or interest in development of interior painting and decorating skills
- Working with our skilled trade teams
- Working with our dedicated design team to bring designs to life
- Liaising with clients to ensure that their requirements are fulfilled
- Working in a tidy, efficient and professional manner
- Reporting to our in-house projects director
- Five day working week Monday to Friday
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Experienced in painting and decorating
- Be fit, healthy and able to lift
- Knowledge of the construction industry (specifically general labouring and decorating) would be useful, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are more important - full training will be provided.
- Well organised, computer literate and keen to learn
- Have a positive, can do attitude
- Have good general multi-skilled abilities
- Have exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage customers and communicate with them effectively and confidently
- Understanding of computerised business systems
- Able to work as part of a small team or independently
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence (will be checked with DVLA) - mandatory
- Approval to work in the UK - mandatory
