Overview
We are seeking a for a new project a dedicated and experienced head pastry chef to join our coffee shop / lounge team
The ideal candidate will be self employed with passion for success, possess a strong background in baking, pastry and bread produces
Team management, ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role requires a passionate individual with excellent leadership skills who can inspire the team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food preparation and cooking meets quality standards.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain strict food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as necessary to maintain stock levels.
- Develop menus in collaboration with the culinary team, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, updates, and training opportunities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a kitchen environment.
- Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
- Previous experience in a restaurant setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations.
