Senior Chef — Tap & Tan Tenby

Location: Tap & Tan, Tenby
Position: Senior Chef
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

About Us

Tap & Tan is a busy bar and smokehouse kitchen focused on bold flavours, quality produce, and relaxed dining. Our menu centres around smoked meats, loaded dishes, and modern bar food all cooked with consistency and passion. You’ll be working with a Pro Q coal-fed smoker, producing authentic low-and-slow barbecue alongside a fast-paced service kitchen.

The Role

We are looking for a strong Senior Chef to support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team, maintaining standards, and driving service quality. This is a hands-on role suited to someone organised, reliable, and confident running services.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
Lead and supervise the team during prep and service
Maintain high food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
Manage stock control, ordering, and waste reduction
Ensure food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance standards are met
Assist with menu development and smoker preparation
Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff
Take responsibility for kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence
working at other sites in the company when needed (Pembrokeshire out of season)

What We Offer

Guaranteed minimum 30 hours per week out of season
Competitive salary/hourly rate (dependent on experience)
Two set days off per week (depending on business needs)

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Senior Chef or Sous Chef
Confident running busy services
Passion for smoked and modern casual dining food
Strong leadership and communication skills
Good organisational and time-management ability
Food Hygiene knowledge and kitchen compliance awareness
Positive attitude and team-focused mindset
