Job Overview

A fully funded apprenticeship in dental nursing is a work-based training program where you earn a legal wage while splitting your time between hands-on employment at a dental practice and formal academic study. Because the course is fully funded, the candidate pays £0 in tuition fees and incurs no student debt.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our dental practice as a Trainee Dental Nurse. The successful candidate will support dentists during patient treatments, ensure the smooth running of daily operations, and provide excellent patient care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment where learning is supported whilst training towards a formal qualification. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to learning new skills and delivering high standards of dental care.

Responsibilities

Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials before appointments
Sterilise and maintain dental equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Provide support to patients, including explaining procedures and post-treatment care instructions
Manage patient records accurately using IT systems, ensuring confidentiality at all times
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient correspondence
Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment within the practice
Adhere to infection control protocols and health & safety guidelines at all time
Maintain excellent academic progress, meeting course deadlines and engaging fully with the required syllabus

Skills

Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards patients of all ages
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with patients and team members
Proven organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
Good IT literacy for managing electronic patient records and appointment systems
Knowledge of nursing practices relevant to dental care is desirable but training can be provided for the right candidate
Ability to work well within a team, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail
