Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced, friendly and efficient Barista to join our small cafe team. Great latte art and coffee knowledge is a must The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all of our customers. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food and drink preparation within a small cafe environment, ensuring every customer enjoys a high-quality experience. Candidates must be organised, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including barista coffee, matcha, tea, and hot chocolate, ensuring consistency and quality.
Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling snacks or light meals as required.
Operate coffee machine, grinders, and other relevant equipment safely and efficiently. Knowledge of coffee machine calibration and coffee timings is an advantage.
Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including sanitising surfaces and equipment in accordance with food safety standards.
Serve customers promptly with a friendly attitude, taking orders accurately and processing payments efficiently.
Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth service operations.
Uphold food safety regulations at all times, adhering to hygiene protocols diligently.
Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment by engaging positively with customers and colleagues alike.

Experience

Previous experience as a Barista is essential.
Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous.
Experience in serving customers and handling cash or card transactions is desirable.
Basic skills in food preparation are beneficial.
Proficiency in basic maths to handle transactions accurately.
Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods. This position offers an engaging work environment where your enthusiasm for coffee and customer service can thrive while developing valuable skills within the hospitality industry.

Hours

Minimum of 4 /5 shifts per week, to include weekends. Immediate start available after a trial shift. Hours range between 8.30 - 4.30. Longer hours available during the School holidays.

Pay: £10.85-£14.00 per hour
