Job Description
Graham Young Pharmacy in Peterborough is looking for a Pharmacy Counter Assistant/Dispenser to join our friendly and professional team on a 1-year fixed-term contract.
This position is offered as a fixed-term role for 12 months, with the possibility of extension subject to service needs and performance.
We are a busy, modern, clinically focused community pharmacy delivering a wide range of NHS and private services. This role is suitable for someone with previous retail or pharmacy experience, or someone looking to start a career in pharmacy. Full training will be provided.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain recognised pharmacy qualifications and build a long-term career within a supportive and progressive environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Welcoming customers and providing excellent customer service
- Assisting with over-the-counter medication sales and healthcare advice (under supervision)
- Supporting the dispensing process
- Handling prescription collections
- Maintaining stock levels and merchandising the shop floor
- Promoting pharmacy services such as flu vaccinations, travel services and minor illness support
- Ensuring the pharmacy remains clean, organised and professional

What We Are Looking For
- Previous retail or customer service experience (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and team player
- Willingness to undertake training and complete Pharmacy NVQ qualifications
