Then this Senior Children's Occupational Therapy position within social care could be the perfect opportunity for you!
As a Grade 11 Senior Occupational Therapist in the Children's Occupational Therapy team, you'll support children and young people with health, social, and housing needs in the community. You'll carry out assessments, recommend appropriate interventions, and provide simple and more complex equipment and adaptation solutions to promote independence and safety.
You'll manage a varied caseload, including children with a range of needs, using sound problem-solving and clinical reasoning skills. Working closely with families, carers, and colleagues across health, housing, and social care, you'll help deliver a joined-up, child-centred service that supports positive outcomes.
This is part time position and the salary quoted is based on a full time post and therefore will be pro rata accordingly

We operate a flexible way of working over the week, you will manage your own diary and there is no weekend working. We are mostly agile and work from home, whilst using the office as an official work base.
Our wider Occupational Therapy service supports adults across areas such as moving and handling, adaptations, Technology Enabled Care, Learning Disability, and OT Duty triage. This post sits within our dedicated Children's Occupational Therapy team, delivering assessment and intervention within the home environment.
All about You
- Are you a compassionate and proactive professional with a degree in Occupational Therapy, registered with the HCPC?
- Do you have experience working independently and as part of a collaborative team?
Can you bring strong communication and interpersonal skills to support children in social care?
You have experience working as a qualified Occupational Therapist, ideally within children's services, and your communication and interpersonal skills enable you to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team. You are committed to continuous professional development and motivated to make a positive difference to children and their families.
You bring transferable skills from your current role and use them to provide holistic interventions that consider the child's daily life, family context, and home environment.
You will demonstrate sound clinical judgement and decision-making, alongside strong communication skills, to support children and families in a confident and sensitive way.
You will use your Occupational Therapy skills to assess how a child's additional needs impact on their occupational performance and to recommend appropriate interventions tailored to their individual circumstances.
You will work collaboratively with other health and social care professionals to deliver comprehensive assessments and interventions that enhance the quality of life for children and families within Peterborough.
Please note this role is based in the community, it is essential that you hold a full driving license and have access to a car to complete home visits.
