Full job description

Green Platypus is looking for experienced, proven Energy Consultants to join our growing Sunderland-based team. This is NOT an entry-level role.

We are only interested in applicants with a MINIMUM of 2 YEARS OUTBOUND BUSINESS-TO-BUSINESS ENERGY SALES EXPERIENCE with a track record of results. If you do not meet this criteria, do not apply. Applications from candidates without the required experience will be immediately rejected.

What We’re Looking For:

We want confident, commercially minded individuals who understand the UK business energy market, know how to build relationships with decision makers and can consistently generate and close business.

You must be comfortable:

Cold calling businesses daily
Speaking with directors and business owners
Managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to supplier lock-in
Handling objections and negotiating contracts
Working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
Generating your own opportunities as well as working company leads

Requirements - NON NEGOTIABLE

Minimum 2 YEARS outbound B2B energy sales experience
Proven results within the energy sector
Strong understanding of business energy contracts and procurement
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Professional and confident telephone manner
Self-motivated, disciplined and target driven
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Contacting UK businesses regarding energy contracts and renewals
Identifying savings and procurement opportunities
Building and maintaining long-term client relationships
Managing contracts through to completion and supplier lock-in
Upselling additional Green Platypus services where appropriate
Working alongside account managers to maximise customer value and retention
Achieving realistic but performance-focused sales targets representing Green Platypus professionally at all times.

Salary up to £50,000 pro rata depending on experience
Commission structure paying up to 30%
22 days annual holiday plus bank holidays

Performance-related incentive days off
Up to 4 weeks off in December (performance related)
