Cabinet Maker / Cabinet Maker's Assistant Saada & Sons — West Sussex & London Full-time or Part-time | Ongoing for the right person
About Us
Saada & Sons is a design-led bespoke cabinetry and joinery studio based in Pulborough, West Sussex. We design and manufacture kitchens, wardrobes, media units, headboards, and fitted storage for private residential clients across London, Surrey, and Sussex. All of our work is made in our own workshop and installed by our own team — we take pride in every piece from first cut to final fix.
The Role
We're looking for a skilled and reliable Cabinet Maker — or a strong Cabinet Maker's Assistant — to join us on an ongoing basis, both in the workshop and on site.
This is a hands-on role with real variety: one day you may be in the workshop cutting, assembling, and finishing bespoke cabinetry; the next you could be on a project site in London, working independently to a high standard. For the right person, this is a long-term position with a team that values craft, attention to detail, and doing things properly.
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience as a Cabinet Maker, with a portfolio of completed work
- Completion of a relevant training programme or apprenticeship — advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Good arithmetic and practical problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising standards
- Confident working unaccompanied on client sites
- Willingness to travel to and from sites in London and the surrounding area
- Excellent communication and customer-facing manner — you will interact with clients and other trades
- Must have own transport due to the workshop location
Key Responsibilities
- Select appropriate materials, fittings, and tools for each job
- Work from cutting lists to cut materials accurately and efficiently
- Create standard and bespoke cabinet components to specification
- Assemble finished cabinets and carry out quality checks
- Apply sealant, varnish, paint, or other specified finishes where required
- Plan your approach to each project to ensure on-time completion
- Install cabinetry and fitted furniture on site to a high standard
Desirable Skills
- Experience operating CNC machinery — highly advantageous
- Knowledge of spray finishing and lacquering — highly advantageous
- Upholstery skills
- Experience in veneering or marquetry — particularly sought after
What We Offer
- Ongoing work for the right person — we're not looking for a one-off
- A varied role across workshop production and London site installations
- A small, close-knit team that cares about the quality of what it makes
