Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Porter Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our busy kitchen environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising kitchen porters, ensuring cleanliness standards are maintained, and supporting the culinary team in food preparation and service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in a busy hotel or restaurant kitchen environment
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen porters to ensure efficient workflow and cleanliness standards are met
- Oversee the cleaning and sanitising of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Assist with food preparation tasks where necessary, supporting chefs and kitchen staff during busy periods
- Ensure all kitchen areas are organised, stocked, and maintained to high standards of hygiene
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishments are required
- Support the training and development of kitchen porters, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures
- Assist in managing waste disposal processes efficiently and sustainably
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety protocols
Requirements
- Strong background in kitchen operations, with knowledge of food safety, health & safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a hospitality setting is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment
- A proactive attitude with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the workplace
Pay: Up to £15.00 per hour
