Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Stylist - Junior Dog Groomer to join our professional pet grooming team. This role involves supporting senior groomers in delivering high-quality grooming services, ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of each dog. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a keen eye for detail, contributing to a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners.
Duties
- Assisting senior groomers with bathing, drying, and grooming dogs according to specified styles and standards
- Handling dogs gently and confidently to ensure a stress-free grooming experience
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of grooming tools and workstations
- Assisting with the preparation of grooming areas before and after appointments
- Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners and addressing any concerns or questions
- Supporting the team in managing heavy lifting tasks, such as moving larger animals or equipment safely
- Ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Previous veterinary experience or animal care background is highly desirable
- Genuine love for animals and a compassionate approach to their wellbeing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Willingness to undertake heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety procedures are followed
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Organised, reliable, with a keen eye for detail in grooming standards
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
