The team combines efficient legal support colleagues with trusted and experienced lawyers who together deliver outstanding client care across the full range of private client services. Our partners are Legal 500 recommended and have deep sector knowledge in areas including Health, Social and Elderly Care, Trusts, Tax and Succession, and Estate Planning. Our lawyers hold professional memberships and accolades such as Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE), Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

This is an exciting new position within Kitson Boyce, created to recognise and support senior practitioners who are leaders within their field and want to play a key role in shaping the continued growth of our Private Client team.
As a senior-level Associate, you will play a key role in the continued growth and success of our Private Client department. Alongside your own complex caseload, you will have clear responsibility for supervision, training and development within the team, and will actively contribute to business development and the firm’s strategic direction.
You will handle a range of matters including Wills, Estate Administration, Probates, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trust and Inheritance Tax Planning, and Trust Administration, while also helping to shape and refine the team’s processes and client experience.
This role is ideal for someone with proven expertise in private client work who is ready to step into a leadership position, combining high-quality legal work with mentoring and firm-wide contribution.
Your role in the Private Client team is key. We are looking for someone who can combine technical excellence with leadership, client management and commercial awareness.
You will:

Have at least 5 years’ PQE in private client work, ideally with STEP membership or working towards it (all qualification routes will be considered).

Demonstrate a broad and confident understanding of private client law, with a particular interest in developing a specialist technical focus.

Have a proven track record of managing complex matters with minimal supervision.

Be confident in supervising, mentoring and supporting junior colleagues, helping to embed best practice and consistency across the team.

Demonstrate the ability to generate and develop new business, whether through existing client relationships, professional networks or referral channels.

Be committed to excellence in client care and demonstrate integrity, trust and professionalism in all you do.

Show genuine interest in contributing to the wider success of the firm, beyond your own caseload.
This role can be based at either our Torquay or Plymouth office. We welcome applications from candidates in both areas.
