ABOUT US:
Durnsford Lodge is a residential care home near Stoke Village in Plymouth. We are a very caring group of people providing people with a homely environment and kind, caring staff. Our work environment includes:
A capacity of 28 beds.
KEY REPSONSIBILITIES:
· Plan, organise and deliver a varied and stimulating programme of daily activities for our residents.
· Maintain detailed and meaningful activity records, documenting not only what activities took place but also residents' engagement, responses and the positive impact on their wellbeing. We are looking for someone who understands that high-quality documentation is just as important as delivering outstanding activities.
· Develop meaningful one-to-one and group activities tailored to individual needs, interests and abilities.
· Support residents living with dementia through engaging, inclusive and therapeutic experiences.
· Encourage resident participation while respecting personal choice and independence.
· Organise special events, celebrations, outings and seasonal activities.
· Build strong relationships with residents and their families to understand life histories, hobbies and preferences.
· Ensuring to provide tea, coffee and snacks when relatives come to visit, and ensure that our residents dignity is respected when their family and friends come and visit.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure activities promote physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.
· Develop links with local schools, community groups, entertainers, volunteers and organisations to enrich the lives of residents.
· Maintain accurate records of activity participation, resident feedback and outcomes.
· Ensuring when professionals visit to greet them pleasantly and appropriately and providing them with the professionals feedback form where necessary.
· Monitor and evaluate activity programmes to ensure they remain innovative, effective and person-centred.
· Support residents to pursue existing interests and discover new opportunities for enjoyment and fulfilment.
· Ensure all activities are delivered safely and in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
· Contribute positively to the home's warm, welcoming and inclusive culture.

Desirable:
- Previous experience in an activities, wellbeing or recreational role within a care setting.
- Experience supporting individuals living with dementia.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care, activities coordination or therapeutic recreation.
- Full driving licence (if supporting community outings).
