énergie Fitness is seeking an ambitious, driven, and highly professional Assistant Club Operations Manager to support the leadership and operational success of our Leighton Buzzard Club.

This is a key leadership position focused on driving excellence across our core operational pillars: People, Fitness Product, Process, and Commercial Performance. The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the Club Manager in leading the team, delivering exceptional member experiences, maintaining operational standards, and achieving commercial growth targets.

We are looking for an individual who leads with energy, accountability, professionalism, and a genuine passion for health, fitness, and people development.

The Role

As Assistant Club Operations Manager, you will support the day-to-day leadership of the club, ensuring high standards are consistently achieved across all departments. You will act as a role model for the team, helping to create a positive, high-performing culture while delivering operational excellence and commercial success.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can confidently manage people, oversee gym operations, drive member engagement, and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the business.

Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, and development of club staff
Leading by example through professionalism, positivity, and accountability

Coaching and motivating the team to deliver exceptional customer service
Building strong relationships with members to improve retention and engagement
Supporting performance management and staff development initiatives
Encouraging teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement

PRODUCT

Delivering a premium fitness experience is essential to our success. You will support the management and delivery of our fitness product by:

Ensuring high standards across all gym facilities, equipment, and member areas
Supporting the delivery of inductions, classes, coaching standards, and member journeys
Driving excellence in member experience and fitness support services
Monitoring gym floor standards, cleanliness, and health & safety compliance
Supporting the implementation of fitness initiatives, challenges, and retention activities
Maintaining strong product knowledge and promoting continuous team education

PROCESS

Operational consistency and compliance are critical within our club environment. You will assist in ensuring effective operational processes by:

Supporting the daily management of club operations and opening/closing procedures
Ensuring company policies, procedures, and brand standards are consistently followed
Monitoring health & safety, risk assessments, and compliance requirements
Supporting operational audits and maintaining accurate reporting systems
Managing administrative tasks and club systems efficiently
Ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation standards remain consistently high
Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service delivery

PERFORMANCE

Commercial success is a core responsibility of the leadership team. You will contribute to achieving business objectives by:

Supporting membership growth, retention, and secondary revenue targets
Assisting in the delivery of sales strategies and lead generation activities
Monitoring club KPIs and contributing to performance improvement plans
Driving team accountability for service standards and commercial objectives
Supporting local marketing initiatives and community engagement activities
Identifying opportunities to improve member satisfaction and business profitability
Maintaining a proactive, results-driven, and commercially aware mindset

Requirements

Previous supervisory or management experience within the fitness, leisure, or hospitality industry preferred
Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification desirable
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Commercial awareness with the ability to support sales and retention performance
Ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team
Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Passion for fitness, leadership, and operational excellence
