We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team at HMP Gartree. HMP Gartree is a category B prison based in Market Harborough, housing around 650 patients. You will be working closely with the multi-disciplinary team, including an integrated mental health team to deliver Psychiatric support to adult males mainly aged 28-50. Most of whom have complex mental health and historic trauma needs.
Hours
20 hours per week works across 2.5 days
The site is also able to offer this as a rolling rota working 2 days one week and 3 days the next, we are also flexible regarding which days are worked Monday to Friday.

Salary
This position is 20 hours per week you’ll receive an annual salary up to £186,480 per annum FTE - depending on experience.
How will we support you?
- You will be part of a team of 20 plus experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatrists
- You will be able to attend monthly Consultant's meeting and 1:1 clinical supervision.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite
- Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications required
- Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
- Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
- Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
- Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
