Job Purpose
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Intervention Tutor to join our team at Anderida Learning Centre. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people by providing tailored educational support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching:
● Deliver one-to-one and small group tutoring sessions
● Assess individual learning needs and create personalised lesson plans
● Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons
● Communicate regularly with parents/carers regarding student development
● Work collaboratively with teachers and external professionals to support student outcomes
● Implement behaviour support strategies and positive behaviour approaches.
● Maintain paperwork and attend regular meetings relating to your allocated key students
● Use a range of teaching resources, including digital tools, to enhance learning
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sessions and progress
● Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning profiles and barriers.
● Promote attendance, engagement, and positive learning behaviours.
Safeguarding and Wellbeing of Students:
● Safeguard and promote the welfare of all students in line with school policies.
● Report concerns promptly in accordance with safeguarding procedures.
● Contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
● Support students to develop emotional regulation, resilience, and independence.
● Build positive and trusting relationships with young people with complex needs.
Progress and reviews:
● Liaise with SEND staff and contribute to reviews and reports.
● Deliver targeted interventions to improve academic outcomes.
● Prepare students for GCSE and post-16 qualifications. Use baseline assessments and progress data to identify gaps in learning.
● Support targets identified in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where applicable.
● Monitor and track student progress, adapting teaching strategies as required
Working Relationships
● Present a professional image of the Directors and the Organisation as well as maintaining constructive relationships with:
● Internal – Head of School, all teachers, support staff
● External - Service Users, Youth Offending Teams, Police, Significant Other Support Networks (integrated services, education, youth service)
