Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated IT Helpdesk Engineer to provide technical support and assistance to our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving hardware and software issues, supporting end-users, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about technology and customer service to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.

This job will predominantly be office based but will require trips to client sites on a regular basis, therefore a car owner and full uk driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to IT support requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end-users.
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
Assist with setting up new equipment and ensuring proper functioning before deployment.
Document solutions and maintain accurate records of support activities.
Provide guidance and training to users on IT best practices and system utilisation.
Collaborate with the IT team on projects aimed at improving infrastructure and security.
Escalate complex issues to senior technical staff when necessary.
Attend client sites as required to resolve issues and install equipment.

Skills

Proven experience in a helpdesk or technical support role is preferred but not essential.
Strong knowledge of primarily Windows, but also macOS, and good knowledge of Microsoft 365 Admin would be an advantage.
Familiarity with networking concepts such as LAN, WAN, VPNs, and firewalls.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Nice-to-have: certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar qualifications. Full UK Driving Licence and a car so you can travel to sites.

Pay: £24,420.00-£29,000.00 per year
