Our Apprenticeship scheme gives people of all ages the chance to boost their existing skillset and kickstart an exciting new career as part of a forward-thinking business, all whilst earning a full-time wage.

We are currently looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about providing great customer service and would like to pursue a career in retail, management or optics.

Our store

You can find us by the entrance to the Dolphin Centre - a very short walk from both the bus and train station. We are proud to deliver exceptional eye and hearing care in a modern, welcoming environment at the heart of the local community. Our large and vibrant store is equipped with state-of-the-art testing technology, including fully equipped test rooms, spacious consulting areas, and a stylish retail space offering a wide range of frames to suit every customer. Conveniently located with excellent public transport links the store is ideal for team members travelling from across the area. With a strong focus on customer experience, teamwork, and clinical excellence, the Poole store provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team committed to making a real difference in people’s lives through accessible, high-quality care.

Our team

The team at our Poole Specsavers store is made up of friendly, dedicated professionals who are passionate about delivering outstanding customer care. With a strong mix of experienced optometrists, optical assistants, and support staff, the team works collaboratively to create a welcoming and supportive environment for both customers and colleagues. There is a real focus on development and teamwork, with colleagues supporting one another to achieve both personal and store goals. The positive, inclusive culture ensures that everyone feels valued, making it a great place to build a rewarding career while providing high-quality care to the local community.

Who is this Apprenticeship for?

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as a Optical Assistant Apprentice.

Individuals with GSCE Maths at Grade 9-4 (A*-C), or an equivalent level qualification
Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK

What does the role involve?

Welcoming customers into store
Booking in eye tests
Pre-screening patients
Providing style advice
Measuring frames
Taking phone calls
