As we enter our next phase of growth, we are looking for a commercially minded HR Business Partner who can help build the people strategy, infrastructure, and culture needed to support our expansion.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working in an fast-paced environment where they can influence business decisions, drive organisational development, and create scalable people practices from the ground up.
The Role
As HR Business Partner, you will work closely with senior leaders to implement and develop the people strategy with business objectives. You will provide both strategic and operational HR support, helping the business attract, develop, engage, and retain high-performing talent while ensuring compliance and fostering a positive workplace culture.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working within a stand-alone HR role, balancing hands-on HR delivery with longer-term strategic planning and organisational development.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Partnering
- Partner with leadership to develop and implement a people strategy that supports business growth and scaling objectives
- Provide expert advice on organisational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management
- Support leaders through periods of change, growth, and transformation.
- Use people data and metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and inform decision-making
Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning
- Develop recruitment strategies to attract high-calibre talent in competitive markets
- Partner with managers to forecast workforce needs and build talent pipelines
- Improve recruitment processes
- Support onboarding programmes that enable new hires to become productive quickly
Performance and Development
- Design and implement performance management frameworks that support accountability and high performance
- Coach managers on performance conversations, employee development, and leadership effectiveness
- Identify learning and development needs and implement programmes to build organisational capability
- Support career progression and succession planning initiatives
Employee Relations and Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on employee relations matters
- Advise on investigations, disciplinary, grievance, and absence management processes where required
- Develop employee engagement initiatives that strengthen culture and retention
- Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and wellbeing across the organisation
Change and Organisational Development
- Support organisational change programmes associated with business growth
- Develop scalable HR policies, processes, and systems
- Lead initiatives that improve organisational effectiveness and employee experience
- Help establish a leadership culture aligned with company values and strategic goals
HR Operations and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice
- Review and update HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation
- Support payroll, benefits, and HR administration processes as required
- Manage and improve internal HRIS
- Maintain accurate HR records and reporting
Essential skills and attributes:
- Be CIPD qualified (minimum Level 5)
- Proven experience as a Senior HR Advisor, HR Business Partner or HR Manager
- Must be comfortable working within a Stand-Alone position
- Proven experience supporting a growing SME, scale-up organisation
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Demonstrated ability to influence and coach managers at all levels
- Experience managing employee relations cases and organisational change initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially aware with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach
- Comfortable operating strategically while remaining hands-on
- Highly adaptable and resilient in a changing environment
- Strong relationship builder with the ability to influence and challenge constructively
- Passionate about developing people and building high-performing teams
- Experience working in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment would be highly advantageous
