Hands‑On Workshop Manager – HGV & Plant
Port Talbot, South Wales
Starting at £18.00 per hour (with overtime) depending on experience.
40 hours per week | Flexible hours | Time and a half overtime

We are looking for a hands‑on Workshop Manager to run our Port Talbot workshop.
This is a working role. You will still be on the tools but leading from the front, while managing technicians, workload and compliance standards.
The Role
- Day‑to‑day management of a busy workshop
- Hands‑on involvement in servicing, maintenance and repairs
- Lead, support and organise vehicle technicians
- Ensure all HGV servicing, maintenance and MOT standards are met
- Maintain DVSA compliance and strong safety standards
- Oversee plant and specialist equipment maintenance
- Control job flow, inspections and maintenance records
- Work closely with Operations Management and with our wider maintenance teams
- Be required to cover breakdown duties
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a hands‑on workshop manager, foreman or senior technician
- Strong knowledge of HGV compliance, servicing and MOT prep
- Experience working with plant and specialist equipment including agricultural
- Confident supervising people while remaining practical
- Organised, safety‑focused and standards‑driven
