A growing, independent, family-owned, insurance brokerage based in Portsmouth is looking to recruit a confident and hands-on commercial account executive with strong technical knowledge of most commercial insurance products.
Your role will be to manage a book of business of existing clients and develop a pipeline of new business in relation to commercial insurance, ensuring full FCA compliance, developing strong client relationships and delivering excellent customer service and insurance advice that the company is known for.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prospect new leads
- Attend client meetings at their premises
- Identification of needs
- Negotiation and presentation to insurers in order to secure most appropriate cover for the client
- Presentation of recommendations and cover to the client
- Closing the sale and ensuring cover is on risk
- Securing cross selling business and referrals
- Provide ongoing advice and support to clients
- Provide claims support
- Participate in the company’s corporate responsibility programme
- Attend training and maintain CPD record
- Arrange new policies, renewals and MTAs
- Deliver a high standard of customer service to clients and prospects
- Discuss and plan risk management objectives with clients
- Assist with marketing activities
- Assist with training less-experienced members of the team
Person Specification
Essential
Qualifications:
· GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English grade A-C
· Hold Cert/Dip CII or working towards
Experience:
· Min 15 years experience in commercial insurance, with at least 5 years in an account exec role
Knowledge:
· Confident technical knowledge of the following products: PI, D&O, Liabilities, combined products, property, motor fleet, marine cargo, etc.
Skills:
· Attention to detail is essential
· Excellent administration and record keeping
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Good organisational skills and time management
· Competent with IT
· Fluent with Outlook, Word and Excel
