About Us
We are a leading UK provider of DBS checks, background checks and employment screening services, supporting organisations across education, healthcare, recruitment, charities, construction, security, facilities management and corporate sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are expanding our commercial team and are looking to recruit several experienced Business Development Managers to help us win new organisational clients across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a target-driven B2B sales professional to sell a service that many organisations are legally required to use when recruiting staff into regulated roles.
The Role
As a Business Development Manager, your main focus will be generating new business, building a strong pipeline and securing long-term corporate clients.
You will be responsible for identifying organisations that require DBS checks, background screening, employment checks and compliance services, then building relationships with key decision makers to convert them into active clients.
This is a new business sales role with strong recurring revenue potential.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Generating new B2B clients across the UK
- Contacting and onboarding organisations that require DBS checks and employment screening
- Building relationships with HR Directors, Compliance Managers, Recruitment Managers and senior decision makers
- Managing a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
- Attending networking events, conferences and industry events
- Delivering product demonstrations to prospective clients
- Identifying contract, framework and tender opportunities
- Supporting the preparation of tender and contract submissions
- Working closely with internal teams to ensure new clients are onboarded successfully
- Developing long-term relationships with corporate clients
Target Sectors
You will sell into a wide range of sectors, including:
- Recruitment agencies
- Education providers
- Healthcare organisations
- Charities and non-profit organisations
- Security companies
- Facilities management companies
- Construction and trade organisations
- Corporate employers requiring background checks
- Organisations recruiting staff into regulated roles
This is a nationwide market with thousands of potential clients.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for ambitious, confident and commercially focused Business Development Managers who know how to generate opportunities and close deals.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven B2B sales or business development experience
- Experience winning new business and managing a sales pipeline
- Confidence speaking with senior decision makers
- Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- A proactive, target-driven approach
- Ability to identify contract and tender opportunities
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills
- A professional and organised approach to sales activity
Experience in HR services, recruitment, compliance, employment screening, background checks, payroll, SaaS or corporate services would be beneficial but is not essential.
Earnings and Commission
This role offers strong earning potential for high-performing sales professionals.
- £35,000 basic salary
- Uncapped commission structure
