Job Title: Skilled Landscaper / Site Team Leader

Location: Site-based (Yorkshire)

Landscape One Design Ltd is a well-established landscaping company with a strong reputation for high-end, contemporary garden design and build across the North of England. Run by Noel Anderton – a qualified garden designer with a BA (Hons) in Garden Design from the University of Greenwich – the company specialises in creating exciting, inspirational outdoor spaces that are built to last.

The company offers a full end-to-end service, from initial design through to construction, and has built an exceptional reputation for quality workmanship, clear communication and a friendly, professional approach. Clients consistently praise the team for their attention to detail, faultless finish, and the ability to bring creative ideas to life.

Noel has ambitious plans to grow the business. With a strong pipeline of work booked through next year – he needs the right person on site to help drive the company forward. This is a genuine opportunity to join a growing business at an exciting stage and play a key role in shaping its future.

Role Overview

Noel needs a reliable, skilled landscaper to take charge on-site. You will be the person he can trust to run the day-to-day site operation, manage two semi-skilled team members, and ensure the work is completed to exacting standards and optimum efficiency. This role is critical to helping Noel grow the business.

Key Objectives

Take full responsibility for site progress – keeping the job moving forward each day without needing Noel to be present constantly.
Manage and direct two semi-skilled landscapers – giving them clear, regular direction and support.
Maintain quality and technical standards – spotting issues before they become problems and ensuring all work meets required specifications.
Ensure high standards of on-site health and safety – keeping the site safe, organised, and compliant so work can continue without unnecessary risk or disruption.
Train and develop team members – helping team members build their skills, confidence and understanding of how the job should be done.
Work collaboratively with Noel – feeding back on-site issues, progress, and any support needed.

What We're Looking For

Key Skills Required

Strong practical landscaping ability across paving, walling, planting, turfing, fencing, drainage, and general site work.
Ability to manage and motivate semi-skilled workers on site.
Strong attention to detail and pride in completing work properly.
Ability to work independently, solve problems, and make sensible decisions on site.
Good communication and leadership skills.
Ability to maintain safe working practices and support a tidy, well-run site.
Ability to help train and guide less experienced team members.

Experience Required

Several years’ hands-on landscaping experience.
Experience supervising others or taking the lead on site.
Experience delivering work to a high standard with minimal supervision.
Experience managing day-to-day site progress and dealing with problems as they arise.

Qualities Needed

Reliable and trustworthy.
Proactive and self-motivated.
Calm, practical, and level-headed.
Organised and able to keep work moving.
Positive attitude and willing to support the wider team.
