Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated vehicle prepper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and restoring commercial vehicle bodywork to its original condition. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with both hand and power tools. As a Panel Beater, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality workmanship.

Duties

Assess damaged vehicles and determine the necessary repairs required.
Utilise hand tools and power tools to remove dents, scratches, and other imperfections from vehicle panels.
Weld and assemble components as needed to restore structural integrity.
Read and interpret schematics to understand repair processes and specifications.
Maintain a clean and organised workspace while ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair progress and options.
Perform equipment repair and maintenance tasks as required to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Panel Beater or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
Experience with heavy lifting and handling of automotive parts.
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
